Every solid build starts below ground. We dig and pour foundations for extensions and new builds, and carry out underpinning where existing foundations need strengthening — for example where a property has movement, subsidence, or where you're adding load with an extra storey. This is specialist work and we handle it with proper structural engineering and building-control sign-off.

Underpinning strengthens or deepens existing foundations, usually where there's been movement or subsidence, or where extra load is being added. It transfers the building's weight onto more stable ground.

Do I need underpinning for subsidence?

Not always — it depends on the cause and extent. A survey and, where needed, a structural engineer's assessment will determine the right fix. We can arrange this.

Do you handle building control?

Yes — foundation and underpinning work is inspected by building control at set stages, and we manage those inspections as part of the job.

How long does underpinning take?
